Chris Cooper earned his BA in Accounting from Texas A&M University in 1989 and began his career in the Dallas office of Deloitte & Touche LLP.  In 1995, he relocated to the northeast to begin a Deloitte management development program and was admitted to the firm partnership in 2000.  In addition to serving clients in an audit capacity, he spent a number of years providing merger and acquisition services to private equity firms such as Blackstone, KKR, and Freeman-Spogli.  Chris has provided services to a number of Deloitte's preeminent global audit clients, including Bristol-Myers Squibb, Tyco International, Walgreens, Schering-Plough, ITT Corporation, Xylem and Fisher Scientific. He also serves as the leader of the Life Science and Healthcare Audit practice in the United States.

Chris is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and is licensed to practice public accounting in Texas, New York, and New Jersey.

Chris and his wife, Theresa, support the Mays Business School and the Association of Former Students at Texas A&M.  Despite living in the northeast, they have been football season ticket holders since 1999 and have donated generously to the 12th Man Foundation capital funding projects through the years, including the Kyle Field redevelopment project, the Cox-McFerrin Center for Aggie Basketball, the Blue Bell Park renovation project, the Rhonda and Frosty Gilliam Jr. Indoor Track, the Bright Complex renovation, and the softball field project. In his local community, Chris is active on the board of Fairmount Country Club and has served in the past on the boards of the United Way of Stamford and the Child Guidance Center of SW Connecticut.

Chris enjoys time with his family, Aggie sporting events, golfing, boating and snow skiing.  Chris and Theresa have three boys, Tyler, 12, Andrew, 10 and Jack, 8.

"Coming to Texas A&M definitely changed my life.

To those who support student-athletes by giving, I want to say thanks and gig 'em.

Without them, many young people who aren't financially stable or can't provide an education for themselves have a great opportunity. It makes A&M a better place."
