ABOUT THE 12TH MAN+ FUND


The 12th Man+ Fund was established to further the 12th Man Foundation's mission while enhancing the student-athlete experience at Texas A&M through name, image and likeness (NIL) opportunities.

With a contribution to 12th Man+, supporters can create NIL opportunities for
Aggie student-athletes and help ensure Texas A&M Athletics has a competitive edge.

HOW IT WORKS


12th Man+ is a new avenue of support through the 12th Man Foundation designed to compensate student-athletes for promoting the organization through charitable marketing services.

Donors have the ability to direct donations to benefit student-athletes in the sport of their choice or the option to support a general fund with a one-time or recurring gift for distribution to student-athletes across all sports.

In addition to providing NIL opportunities for Aggie student-athletes, 12th Man+ donors are eligible for a variety of exclusive benefits and will receive a tax receipt at the beginning of each year for their contributions.

12th Man+ Fund contributions may be up to 100% tax deductible for federal income tax purposes.
Donors should consult their tax advisor to determine the deductibility of their donations.
12th Man+ Fund contributions do not qualify for certain 12th Man Foundation membership levels and benefits including MVP and MVP Gold. Texas A&M University employees are not eligible to participate in or contribute to the 12th Man+ Fund.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS


Name, Image, and Likeness - “NIL” refers to the way college athletes can receive compensation. “Using” an athlete's NIL would involve a brand leveraging their name, image and/or likeness through marketing and/or promotional endeavors.

At this time, donors have the option to direct their funds to benefit student-athletes in the sport of their choice or the option to support a general fund with a one-time or recurring gift for distribution to student-athletes across all sports. Contributions may not be directed to a specific student-athlete.

The 12th Man Foundation is an independent 501(c)(3) in both fact and appearance. The Foundation's NIL-related activities are not conducted on behalf of Texas A&M University or Texas A&M Athletics at any time. The Foundation will not communicate with or involve the University regarding the negotiations with student-athletes related to NIL activities. The Foundation may communicate with the University regarding general compliance matters.

The 12th Man Foundation will provide donors with a tax receipt. Donors should consult their tax advisor to determine the deductibility of their donation.

The 12th Man Foundation will work to engage as many student-athletes as possible to further its mission. A student-athlete's marketability, following and ultimately their name, image and likeness will influence the level of engagement. Student-athlete compensation will ultimately depend upon the dollars raised and restricted.

The 12th Man Foundation will contract currently enrolled student-athletes to engage in promotional activities to further its mission. Promotional activities will include services such as social media posts, appearances at events, and speaking engagements.

At this time, donors will receive priority points for their 12th Man+ Fund contribution. Given the recency of gifts in support of NIL activities, priority point eligibility is subject to change per NCAA guidelines.

The 12th Man Foundation will review contributions on an ongoing basis to ensure funds are spent the most effective way possible. Operating expenditures will be incurred and funded with the dollars raised to ensure all aspects of the program are run properly and efficiently.
