The 12th Man Foundation is proud to announce Becky '76 and Monty '77 Davis as the 2022 recipients of the E. King Gill Award.

The prestigious honor is presented annually to 12th Man Foundation supporters who are influential investors and ambassadors for Texas A&M Athletics through their financial commitment, exemplary service and leadership.

The Davis's have invested in multiple facility projects for Texas A&M Athletics over the past decade including making lead gifts to the Davis Center for Football Player Development, Davis Diamond, the R.C. Slocum Nutrition Center, the Bright Football Complex renovation and the historic redevelopment of Kyle Field.

Loyal Aggie football season ticket holders and 12th Man Foundation members for the past 45 years, the couple's first major financial commitment to Texas A&M Athletics was inspired in 2011 when Monty read a story in 12th Man Magazine about the football program's need for a player development center. An inquiring phone call to the 12th Man Foundation's Major Gifts office about supporting the project led to the first of several transformational gifts by the Davises and the construction of one of the country's best and most technologically advanced workout facilities.

Through their generous philanthropy, the Davises have also forged a special bond with the Aggie softball program. Their lead gift in support of the program led to the construction and opening of the beautiful Davis Diamond in 2018 giving A&M the finest college softball facility in the nation.

Beyond their financial support, the couple has given back to Aggie Athletics through their advocacy and leadership with Monty serving a term on the 12th Man Foundation Board of Trustees including as the board's chair in 2019. The Davises are also longtime supporters of The Association of Former Students as well as Mays Business School where they endowed a business honors scholarship program in 2013.

The couple was formally honored on Kyle Field during the Texas A&M-Florida game on Nov. 5 and will be featured in an upcoming issue of 12th Man Magazine.

“Becky and Monty embody what it means to be an Aggie and represent what makes Texas A&M a special place. When they see a need, they help find a solution. They are deeply ingrained in the Texas A&M community, are invested in the success of our student-athletes and want the very best for our university. They are extremely deserving of this recognition.”
