Amy '84 & Tim Leach '82

The 12th Man Foundation proudly announces Amy '84 and Tim Leach '82 as the 2024 recipients of the E. King Gill Award, recognizing their exceptional leadership, philanthropy and unwavering dedication to Texas A&M Athletics.

Through their extraordinary generosity, Amy and Tim have propelled Aggie Athletics forward, providing lead gifts for the historic redevelopment of Kyle Field, E.B. Cushing Stadium and the R.A. 'Murray' Fasken '38 Indoor Track & Field. Inspired by a commitment to selfless service, they used their naming rights for the track & field facilities to honor two influential Aggies whose legacies helped shape Texas A&M's history.

The Leaches' journey together began in high school, and their shared Aggie experiences shaped a life filled with service and impact. Soon after graduation, they married and moved to West Texas, where Tim co-founded Concho Resources in 1997, building it into a leading oil producer before its acquisition by ConocoPhillips in 2021. Amy balanced work, family and later devoted herself fully to their family and philanthropic efforts. Together, they are the proud parents of two Aggie sons: William '12, who is married to Kim '12, and Patrick '14, who is married to Courtney '15.

Beyond athletics, Amy and Tim have made a transformative impact across Texas A&M's campus, including their leadership as co-chairs of the university's $4 billion Lead by Example campaign. Their substantial support for the Memorial Student Center, the Zachry Engineering Education Complex and the Leach Teaching Gardens, along with the creation of a scholarship, professorship and chair in petroleum engineering, reflects their commitment to Texas A&M's excellence in education and innovation.

Tim also provided leadership as a member of the Texas A&M University System Board of Regents from 2017 to 2023, serving as chair from 2021 to 2023. In 2020, he was honored as a Distinguished Alumnus by The Association of Former Students, highlighting his profound impact on the Aggie community.

Amy and Tim were formally recognized at Kyle Field during the Texas A&M-Texas game on Nov. 30, 2024, and their story will be featured in an upcoming issue of 12th Man Magazine.
